City Edge : Reimagining Dublin
City Edge is an ambitious, regeneration masterplan for 700 hectares in south side Dublin, sitting between Dublin City Council and South Dublin County Council, and the two local authorities are collaborating together to envisage new residential communities in this brownfield district. Helen Shaw, as part of her creative work as a writer in residence with Maynooth University’s Data Stories Project is exploring the City Edge project as a case study in urban sustainable planning. She wants to understand what it tells us about the opportunities, challenges and barriers to shaping and creating liveable cities that benefit people, places and nature. Helen audio recorded interviews with key planners in the two local authorities and in the Land Development Agency. The storytelling from that work is shared here with links to video, audio and Helen’s essays from the case study.
